Whilst we haven’t had any luck in our attempts to engage Arts Council England (they flatly rebuffed our request..twice), we still hold hope that they will come to appreciate what we do, and why it should matter to them.
Meanwhile, the British Film Institute will be publishing New Horizons for UK Film, its Future Plan 2012-2017, which contains its proposed approach ‘for ensuring film is central to our cultural life’.
BFI will publish the consultation document on 14 May, and undertaking a comprehensive consultation exercise from 14 May to 10 June. We’ll be attending one of the consultation events (see link), and we’ll be giving feedback online through the consultation questionnaire.
We’d like to encourage all Animation Alliance UK members – and anyone else who cares about animation – to also provide feedback through the questionnaire, and we’ll post some helpful suggestions later this month!
